Terms and conditions

The service

ShuleOS is a school management system: student and staff records, attendance, exams and report cards, fees, payroll and messages to parents. The packages and modules a school has are the ones agreed with it, and are shown under Account → Plan.

Registering and accounts

• The person who registers a school must be authorised to act for it, and must give true details.
• The school is responsible for the people it gives logins to, for the roles it gives them, and for keeping passwords private. Tell us at once if you think an account has been misused.
• A registration may be checked, and approved or refused, before a school is opened.

Free trial

Where a free trial is offered, the school can use ShuleOS for the number of days shown when it registers. At the end of the trial the school is switched off unless it has paid for a package. What the school entered is kept, and the school can carry on by choosing a package.

Fees and payment

• Prices depend on the package and the size of the school and are agreed with the school. We invoice for each period, and the invoice shows the amount, the period and the date it is due.
• If an invoice is not paid by its due date, we may suspend the school's access until it is paid. Nothing is deleted because of a suspension.
• Amounts are in Tanzanian Shillings (TZS) unless an invoice says otherwise.

The school's information

The information a school enters belongs to the school. We use it only to run the service for the school, as described in our Privacy policy. The school is responsible for having the right to enter it, for keeping it accurate, and for telling parents and staff how it is used. A school can ask for a copy of its information at any time, and for it to be deleted when it stops using the service.

Messages

When a school sends text messages, emails or WhatsApp messages through ShuleOS, the school is responsible for what they say and for sending them only to people it may contact. Text message delivery depends on the school's SMS account and on the networks.

Acceptable use

Do not use ShuleOS to break the law, to send abusive or misleading messages, to try to reach another school's information, to interfere with the system, or to copy or resell it without our written agreement.

Availability and backups

We work to keep ShuleOS available and back it up every night, but we cannot promise that it will never be interrupted or that nothing will ever be lost. We will tell schools in good time about planned work where we can.

Our responsibility

ShuleOS is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, ShuleOS is not responsible for losses that come from things outside our control, from the school's own use of the system, or from indirect loss. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the fees the school paid for the three months before the claim arose.

Ending the agreement

A school can stop using ShuleOS at any time by telling us. We may end a school's access if these terms are seriously broken. On ending, the school can ask for a copy of its information and for its deletion.

Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do, and we will tell schools about important changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Questions can be sent to ShuleOS.
