Fees shows the school fees of your child: what has been charged, what you have paid and what you still owe. You cannot pay inside the portal. You pay the school at its bank or by mobile money, and the school records your payment, which then appears here.

Fees

The two summary boxes

  • Total outstanding (every year) is what your child owes now, over all years, with a label: Fully paid, Payment due or a credit if you have paid ahead. If a payment date has passed it shows "Overdue since", and otherwise the "Next payment due" date.
  • The box for the year shows what was Charged, what you Paid, the Balance, and a bar with the percentage paid.

How to pay

The How to pay box tells you exactly where and how to pay: the school's Control Number for your child (if the school uses one), and the school's instructions, such as the bank, the account and the mobile money number.

Always use the child's control number as the payment reference. It is how the school knows the payment is for your child. Keep your bank slip or mobile money message until you see the payment here.

The tabs

Under the boxes, tabs show the detail.

One tab for each kind of fee

There is a tab for each fee, for example Tuition, Meals, Exam fee, Development levy and Transport. Each row shows the Fee and its invoice number and term, the Amount, what is Paid, the Balance, the Due date and the Status (Paid, Part paid or unpaid). The last column has two buttons:

  • Invoice opens the invoice for that fee as a PDF, which you can print or save (if the school allows it).
  • Receipts lists the receipts for that fee. Click View on one to open the receipt as a PDF (if the school allows it).

The receipts of a fee

Arrears

Fees from earlier terms or years that are still unpaid, if any.

Payments & receipts

A list of every payment you have made, with the receipt number, date, method (for example Bank transfer or Mobile money) and amount. Click Receipt to open the receipt.

Payments and receipts

Statement

Your child's account, line by line and in date order: each Charge (an invoice line), each Credit (a payment or discount), and the running Balance. A payment line has a Receipt button.

The statement

When the school shows you less

Some schools show parents only what is owed, when it is due and how to pay. Then you see the summary and the "How to pay" box, but not the tabs, invoices, receipts or statement. Ask the school office if you need a receipt or a statement.

If you think a figure is wrong

  • You paid, but it does not show. Payments are recorded by the school office, sometimes a day or two after you pay. Wait a little, then take your bank slip or mobile money message to the office.
  • A discount or scholarship is missing. Ask the office. Discounts are set by the school.
  • A charge looks wrong. Ask the office to check it. An invoice cannot be changed once it is issued, but the office can cancel it and make a correct one.

If something goes wrong

What you see What it means and what to do
Fees is missing from the menu The school has switched it off for parents.
No Invoice or Receipts buttons The school does not let parents open them. Ask the office.
No control number Your school does not use control numbers. Follow the instructions in the box.
"No fees have been billed yet" The school has not made invoices for this year yet.
