Pupils can sign in to their own portal at /student/login with their admission number (or their email) and a password you give them. They see only their own records. The portal needs the Parent portal module on your plan.
Switch it on
- Open School Settings and go to the Student Portal tab.
- Turn on Enable the student portal.
- Choose what pupils may see. Results, report cards, attendance, timetables, lessons, homework and the calendar are on by default. Fees, behaviour and messages are off until you turn them on.
- Rank in results is hidden unless you turn on the rank option.
Pupils only see report cards you have released.
Give logins
- One pupil: on the Students list, click the key icon on the row. The temporary password is shown once, so write it down or copy it.
- Many pupils: select them and use Create student logins. A CSV sheet downloads with each pupil's admission number, name, class and password. Pupils who already have a login are skipped.
- Forgotten password: use the same row icon to reset. A new temporary password is shown once.
Every pupil must choose their own password the first time they sign in.
Good to know
- The Portal login column on the Students list shows who has a login.
- Pupils who are not active (graduated, left) cannot sign in.
- Switching the portal off closes it for everyone at once.
